Escalator lifts are commonly found in shopping malls, airports, and subway stations to help people easily navigate large crowds. The nominal width of the escalator steps and the nominal speed of the escalator determine the maximum conveying escalator capacity. When using a shopping cart or luggage trolley, the conveying capacity is reduced by about 80%.
